Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – For the second night in a row the Colorado Mesa volleyball team made quick work of its opponent defeating Western State 3-0 Saturday (Oct. 5).
Audrey Steinkirchner hit .647 with a match-high 12 kills to lead CMU who improves to 12-2 overall and leads the league with a 5-1 record.
The Mavs dominated set one by hitting .423 for the win 25-12. The CMU offense only got better in the second half hitting a match-high .457 with 19 kills and only three errors. Mesa finished off the match with a 25-13 win in the third set.
Jordyn Moody, one of the keys to Mesa's offense, tallied 38 of the team's 44 assists on 48 kills.
The serving game played a role in the match with CMU recording six service aces wile WSCU finished with four.

Christian Otzen was the only other player in double digits for kills with 10.
CMU concluded the match with strong advantages in kills (48-23), assists (44-22), digs (53-37) and blocks (6-2).
Sunni Rae Baird tallied a match-high 22 digs for Mesa.
Kelsie Dardis led the Mountaineers, who fall to 1-13 overall and 0-6 in the RMAC, with nine kills.
The volleyball team will play its next five matches on the road starting at Chadron State on Oct. 11.
