Mavericks Fall to Cowgirls 3-1

Box Score LAS VEGAS, N.M. – New Mexico Highlands scored three goals before the Mavericks could respond on their way to a 3-1 victory over Colorado Mesa on Friday night at Perkins Stadium.
 
The Cowgirls scored goals in the 7th, 54th, and the 60th minutes, including two goals from Anyssa Dagnino, to take the commanding 3-0 lead in the match.
 
Kendra Penchoff got the Mavericks on the board in the 74th minute. Penchoff took a cross from Tayler Franklin and found the net. The goal was her second of the season.
 
Colorado Mesa was unable to claw all the way back into the match after the Cowgirls outshot them 28-11 in the match and 15-6 in the second half.
 
Sarah Schnetzler made 10 saves in the match.
 
The Mavericks fall to 6-10 on the season and 5-7 in the RMAC.
 
Colorado Mesa will play their last home game of the season on  Friday at 4pm against RMAC rival Fort Lewis.
