Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa volleyball team improved to 16-4 overall and a perfect 4-0 at home after a 3-0 win over Regis Thursday (Oct. 24) night at Brownson Arena.
The Mavericks led from start to finish in the first set which they won 25-19. The second set was a back-and-forth match featuring six ties and three lead changes.
Jordyn Moody served three straight points to give CMU a 20-18 edge before CMU won the set 25-22.
The Maverick's serving game excelled in the final set thanks to four service aces. CMU won the third 25-18.
Christian Otzen finished with a match-high 16 kills and two service aces to lead the Mavericks.
Setter
Jordyn Moody finished with a double-double with 28 assists and 12 digs.
Erin Perez tallied a match-high 13 digs, and
Sunni Rae Baird chipped in 12.
Caitie Breaux led Regis with 10 kills.
CMU hit .138 for the match and held Regis to .000. Mesa finished with a 37-27 edge in kills and a 58-49 lead in digs.
The Mavericks will host UCCS Friday (Oct. 25).
