Swimming Completes Final Day at Shootout

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Kent Olsen-Stravrakas finished third in a trio of events for the Colorado Mesa men's swimming and diving team at the Intermountain Shootout Saturday (Oct. 12).
 
He was a member of both the 200 (1:26.05) and 400 free relays (3:09.39) that finished third and was third in the 100 free (46.83). He also finished sixth in the 100 fly (52.08).
 
Two other Mavericks finished in the top-10 of the 100 free. Jason Dahlen was ninth (48.20), and Peter Szekely was 10th (48.63).
 
Justin Hastings continued his success from Friday with three top-10 finishes on the day. He was third in the 200 back (1:55.89), seventh in the 200 individual medley (1:59.02) and swam a leg of the 400 free relay.
 
Jarren Brinton was eighth in the 200 back (2:00.86), and Brett Lowe was ninth in the 200 breast (2:19.00).
 
Brock Martin remained undefeated on the season after taking the win in 3-meter diving with a score of 290.45. Ryan Popp was third with 218.15.
 
In the women's 1-meter event, Amanda Jennings was seventh (206.00) and Savannah Craft was eighth (196.35).
 
Miranda Reetz was sixth in the 200 breast in a time of 2:28.27.
 
The women's 400 free relay team of Briana Purkapile, Abi Young, Eryn Leonard and Marissa Bradley was 10th in 3:50.23.
 
Colorado Mesa will swim at Air Force Oct. 18.
