Women's Soccer Preview - Angelo State & Western State

Colorado Mesa will be on the road again this weekend with a neutral site match in Durango, Colo. against the Angelo State Rambelles on Friday. On Sunday, they will travel to Gunnison for a non-RMAC match with Western State Colorado. Here is a quick preview of both matches.

Last Meeting: September 30, 2005  -  ASU 2-0 in San Angelo, Texas

Last Week for the Angelo State: The Rambelles picked up two wins last week. They defeated Texas-Permian Basin 2-0 then beat RMAC Foe New Mexico Highlands 2-1 (2 OT). Four different players scored in the two matches and had a 47.5 shot on goal percentage for the weekend.

Rambelle to Watch: Goalkeeper Danielle Edwards (Sr. , San Angelo, Texas) only allowed one goal in the two matches last week and the Angelo defense only forced her to make three saves in the two matches. She picked up the shutout win over Texas-Permian Basin.

Last Week for the Mountaineers: The Mountaineers are in their inaugural season and dropped three matches last week to RMAC schools.
Western dropped a 1-0 match to Adams State, a 6-1 decision to Regis, and a 3-0 match to Metro State.

Western is playing an independent schedule this season and will pllay a full RMAC schedule starting in 2013.


Mountaineer to Watch: Goalkeepr Meghan Jedrzejewski (Fr. , Longmont, Colo.) has been busy in the opening portion of the season. In the three matches last weekend, she made 27 saves and faced over 70 shots.
