Mavericks Eliminated From NCAA Tournament

            The Colorado Mesa baseball team was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament on a walk-off two-run homerun in the bottom of the ninth by Minnesota State to fall 7-5. CMU finishes the season with a 39-16 record.

            Garrett Carpenter got the start for CMU and pitched well. Carpenter allowed five runs on seven hits, walked none and struck out three. Lefty Jeremy Ortiz took the loss.

            Jeff Popick and Nate Robertson each delivered two hits.

            Popick and Dustin Fackrell each delivered their 17th doubles of the season in the game.

            Colorado Mesa lead 3-0 early after the first inning and had opportunities to extend the lead but could deliver a two-out hit.In the end CMU stranded six runners and three of them were in scoring position.
        
            Minnesota State struck for four runs in the bottom half of the fourth inning and delivered a single run in the 6th before the ninth inning heroics.
