Box Score The Colorado Mesa University baseball team completed the four-game sweep of the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers on Saturday afternoon at Canyon View Park with a 7-4 win. The Mavericks will maintain at least a share of the RMAC lead with the win and improve to 25-9 on the season and 19-5 in the RMAC. Nebraska-Kearney drops to 10-22 and 9-15 in RMAC games.
Garrett Carpenter got the start and after a rough top half of the first inning, settled in and pitched well. Carpenter pitched 7.0 innings and allowed 3 runs on 10 hits, walked 2 and struck out 6.
Cody Lahman and
Derek Benham came in relief and preserved the win.
Mitch Corwin and
Colton Little each finished the game 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored. Corwin drove in two while Little hit his seventh double of the season.
The Mavericks will be on the road next weekend for a four-game series with Colorado Christian in Lakewood, Colo.
