Box Score             The Colorado Mesa baseball team started a crucial Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series with New Mexico Highlands on Friday afternoon in Las Vegas, N.M. The Mavericks dropped the opener to the Cowboys 11-10 after allowing 7 runs in the Cowboys final 3 innings. The Mavericks drop to 19-8 and 13-4 in the RMAC while Highlands improved to 19-7 and 12-5 in RMAC games.

            Nolan Snell had a rocky start as he went 5.1 innings and allowed 7 runs on 10 hits, walked none and struck out 3. Three Mavericks came in relief and allowed 4 runs on 5 hits, walked one and struck out one in 2.2 innings of work.

            Dustin Fackrell helped keep CMU in the game with his bat. Fackrell finished the game 4-for-5 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Braden Box continued his hot streak going 3-for-4 and pushed his season batting average over the .400 mark.

            Colton Little and Jeff Popick both hit homeruns for Colorado Mesa.

            The two teams will continue their series with a doubleheader beginning at 12:00pm from Las Vegas, N.M.
