Box Score 2 The Colorado Mesa University baseball team split a doubleheader with the Dixie State Red Storm in ST. George, Utah on Tuesday. The Mavericks squandered opportunities in a 6-1 loss in game one before one-hitting the Storm in a 4-0 shutout in the night cap. The Mavericks are now 12-6 on the season and have all Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games left on the schedule.
In game one, Colorado Mesa left the bases loaded in the first inning and two runners on in the 7th and 8th innings while Dixie State capitalized on their opportunities in a 6-1 win over the Mavericks.
Tim Moore got the start and took the loss. Moore allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, walked none and struck out 2. He is now 1-1 on the season.
Colton Schoelkopf provided the offense, hitting his first homerun of the season in the fourth inning. Schoelkopf finished the game 2-for-4.
In the nightcap, pitchers

Jared Christensen,
Dylan Evans and
Dakota Behr combined on a one-hit shutout to give CMU a 4-0 victory and the series split. The pitchers combined to strikeout 11 and walk four in the win.
Jared Christensen was credited with the win and allowed no runs on no hits, walked 2 and struck out 3. Christensen is now 4-1 on the season.
Tim Fowler finished the game 2-for-3 and his two-run homerun in the fourth inning was all the Mavericks needed offensively. Fowler also scored a run and had two RBIs.
The Mavericks will open a four-game series on Friday against Colorado Mines at Canyon View Park. First pitch on Friday is slated for 3:30pm. The game will be broadcast on KEXO 1230am.
