Snell's Arm, Schoelkopf's Bat Power Mavericks to Win

Box Score         The Colorado Mesa University baseball team continued its RMAC road swing against RMAC foe CSU-Pueblo at Rawlings Field on Friday night. The Mavericks prevailed after surrendering a 3-0 lead early in the game. CMU improves to 4-1 and 9-4 on the season.

Maverick righty Nolan Snell pitched his second complete game in as many weeks. Snell, fresh off being named NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week, allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits, walked 3 and struck out a seson high 11 batters. Snell improved his record to 4-0.

Catcher Colton Schoelkopf provided most of the Maverick offense, going 2-for-4 with a double and 4 RBIs. Schoelkopf delivered a 3-run double in the top half of the 2nd inning. Then after a Tim Fowler double, he hammered a 2-out single to score pinch runner Boby Cozine for the go-ahead run.

The two teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow at Rawlings Field, beginning at 1:00pm
