Colorado Mesa women's basketball team enters the Christmas break undefeated and atop the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference at
10-0 overall and 6-0 in league play.
 
The Mavericks downed Adams State University 65-51 at Plachy Hall in Alamosa on Monday night, closing out play in 2012. The loss dropped the Grizzlies to 4-5 overall and 1-4 in RMAC action.
 
Kelsey Sigl, CMU's newest member of the 1,000 point club, led all players with 18 points and seven rebounds in the contest. Sigl had 11 points at intermission.
 
Katrina Selsor finished with 14 points, six rebounds and two steals. Bruna Deichmann recorded with 11 points, five rebounds off the bench.

CMU led by eight at half (34-36) and quickly opened up a double-digit lead on a trey by Sharaya Selsor, three minutes into the second half. The Mavs built the lead to 16 points on several occasions and sank 15 of 19 second half free throws. CMU finished 22 of 28 from the foul line.

Adams State was led Keyondra White's 13 points and five rebounds.

CMU shot 41 percent (19-46) from the field and 36 percent (5-14) from beyond the arc. The Mavs held a slight rebound margin 34-30, and forced 17 ASU turnovers. The Mavericks had 17 turnovers of their own in the contest. CMU had nine steals, nine assists and two blocked shots in the game.

The Mavericks will break for the holiday and return to action on January 4-5 when they host Colorado Christian and Colorado School of Mines on Friday and Saturday respectively. Tip-off in Brownson Arena is set for 5:30 p.m.
