Women's Soccer Preview - Adams State & UCCS

Colorado Mesa is continuing its road swing with a pair of matches this weekend. The Mavericks will take on the Adams State Grizzlies on Friday afternoon and then will finish their road swing with a match against previously ranked UCCS on Sunday. Here is a quick preview of both matches.

Last Week for the Grizzlies: Adams State dropped a pair of matches on the road last week to Regis and New Mexico Highlands. The Grizzlies lost to RMAC leader Regis 4-0 and then fell victim to New Mexico Highlands 3-1 in Las vegas, N.M.

RMAC Standings: The Grizzlies are currently tied for 7th place with New Mexico Highlands with six points. They both trail 6th place Colorado Mines by three points.

Grizzly to Watch:
Kaylee Smith (Sr., Platte City, Mo.) leads Adams State in points (12) and is tied for the lead in goals (4). She tallied the lone Grizzly goal in a 3-1 loss to New Mexico Highlands last weekend.

Last Week for the Mountain Lions:
UCCS split a pair of matches last weekend. The Mountain Lions dropped a 3-0 decision at home to Colorado Mines then drove South and defeated CSU-Pueblo 3-0 on Sunday.

RMAC Standings: The Mountain Lions sit all by themselves in 4th place in the RMAC with 12 points. They trail Colorado Mesa and Metro State by just a single point for the second spot.

Mountain Lion to Watch: Forward Hannah Levett (So., Fraser, Colo.) is UCCS' biggest scoring threat. She has two multi goal matches on the season and ranks 6th in the RMAC in points (15). In a match with CSU-Pueblo last weekend, she tallied a goal and an assist to help her team to a 3-0 win.
