Mavs Fall to First Place Orediggers

Colorado Mesa (13-4, 7-2) fell to visiting Colorado School of Mines (15-4, 9-1) in Rocky Mountain Athletic conference action on Friday night in Brownson Arena. The Orediggers are in first place in the RMAC east division and squared off this evening against the Mavericks we lead the west division.

The Orediggers were led by Jackie Stabell's 16 kills and .324 attack percentage and Holly Hutchison's 10 kills and .368 hitting percentage. CMU fell in three sets; 18-25, 21-25, 18-25 and snapped a four match win streak.

Abby Ney led the Mavericks with a career high 10 kills and posted a .471 attack percentage. Ney had just two errors on 17 attempts in two sets. In the second set Ney had six kills, zero errors on nine attempts.

Melissa Hess, Kelly Regimbal  and Haleigh Higgins finished with five kills each. Christian Otzen tied for a game high 11 digs and Jordyn Moody recorded 24 assists.

CMU will host Colorado Christian University on Saturday afternoon at 3 pm in Brownson Arena.
