Colorado Mesa University (1-4) volleyball team fell to Dixie State (3-2) in three sets Thursday night in the Holiday Inn Crossroads Classic Tournament. The eight-team tournament runs through Saturday at the Maverick Center.
Dixie State swept the Mavericks 25-15, 25-16, 25-9 recording 40 kills and just five attack errors on the way to their third victory of the season.
The loss dropped CMU to 1-4 on the year. The Mavericks hit .011 in the match, finishing with 22 kills and 21 attack errors.
Antoinette McCormick led the team with six kills and recorded six digs. Freshman setter
Jordyn Moody finished with 17 assists and two digs.
Kelly Regimbal finished with a team high 10 digs.
CMU will host University of Mary at 7 p.m. Friday night in Brownson Arena.
Holiday Inn Crossroads Classic action begins at Noon on Friday in Brownson Arena and the Rec Center.
