Colorado Mesa Scores 1-0 over Lopers

Box Score         The Mavericks women's soccer team scored a 1-0 win over the visiting Nebraska-Kearney Lopers at Walker Field on Friday night. CMU improved to 2-3 on the season and 1-0 in the RMAC. The Lopers dropped to 2-3 and 0-1 in RMAC play.
        Colorado Mesa notched the lone goal of the contest at the 18:01 mark. Senior Sara Islas took a cross from Sophomore Tayler Franklin and found the back of the net on the right side. The goal was Islas' first of the season.
        The Mavericks played great defense and limited the Lopers to 5 shots and only 2 of them on goal. They kept Nebraska Kearney off the scoreboard for the final 71:59 of the match.
        Senior Arielle Harris picked up the win in goal. Harris made 2 saves and picked up her 2nd shutout of the season.
        CMU will be back in action Sunday afternoon against the Regis Rangers at Walker Field. Sunday's match will be the 'Pink on the Pitch' match supporting breast cancer awareness. Kickoff is slated for 3:00pm.
