Colorado Mesa University opened RMAC league action Thursday night at Brownson Arena hosting the #7-ranked Metro State Roadrunners. Metro (8-1, 1-0) swept the Mavericks (3-6, 0-1) 25-13, 25-12, 25-22 behind Lauren Quijano's game high 12 kills and .458 attack percentage.

CMU recorded 22 kills and 38 digs compared to the Roadrunners' 44 kills and 54 digs. Metro hit .368 in the three sets and finished with 7 blocks. CMU hit .061 and recorded 5 blocks in the match.

Metro trailed just once the entire match; early in set three as the Mavericks tied the set on five different occasions.

Jordyn Moody finished with 17 assists and six digs. Megan Rush had 15 digs and one service ace.  

CMU will host #25-ranked Regis University, Friday at 7 p.m.
