After a slow start for the Mavs, they rallied in game one to tie it at one point, but the Hawks were able to hold on and win it 27-25. Senior Antoinette McCormick and junior Rachel Beaty each had four kills in the first game. The team accounted for 17 digs, including four from freshman Tiffany Peterson and Captain Megan Rush. Freshman setter Jordyn Moody had all 12 assists for the Mavs.

Game two started much better for the Mavs as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead and led throughout. They handled the Knights easily in the second game 25-11. Beaty added four kills in the game. Rush also added four more digs with an assist.

The ladies couldn't carry that momentum into the third game, however, as the Knights held off the Mavs rally to win it 25-21. The team couldn't get many kills as McCormick had just two and Beaty only one for the Mavs in the third set. Only eight of the 21 points were off kills. The team had 17 digs in the third game, but couldn't take advantage of their own offensive opportunities.

As the Mavs tried to avoid the loss in the fourth game, the Knights were able to hold on in the tightly contested game four 25-23, and win 3-1 to give them their second win of the season. McCormick and Rachael Hess finished with a team high nine kills for the Mavs. Rush had 17 digs, followed by Moody with 11 digs and 31 assists.

With a 3-5 overall record on the season, CMU will begin a three day stretch of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games this Thursday in Brownson Arena against Metro State. CMU will host Regis University on Friday and Colorado Christian University this Saturday. All games will begin at 7 p.m.
