The Mesa State Mavericks advanced in the RMAC Tournament with a 6-2 win over the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves. The Mavericks advance to face the top seeded Nebraska-Kearney Lopers. Mesa State pounded out thirteen hits and only stranded nine runners on base.
Nolan Snell was nearly unhittable. Snell pitched a complete game and allowed two runs on six hits, walked six and struck out a season high thirteen. The win gave him six on the season and the thirteen strikeouts gave him an even one hundred on the season.
Maverick Third Baseman Erik Nordine continued his hot hitting in the postseason. Nordine finished the game 4-for-5 with three RBIs and his second triple of the season.
Greg Anderson belted his sixth homerun of the season, a solo shot over the mini monster in left in the seventh inning.
The Mavericks will take on the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers at 12:00pm at Suplizio Field tomorrow.
