Box Score Mesa State improved to 14-7 overall and 10-7 in RMAC action Saturday night with a 79-51 win over visiting Chadron State. The Eagles fall to 5-16 overall and 3-14 in league play.
The Mavs led from start to finish shooting 51 percent (25-49) from the floor scoring 45 of their 79 points off the bench.
Lance Fite recorded a game high 20 points (17 first-half points) and tied Colton Burgon with a team high seven rebounds. Burgon finished with 14 points and seven boards in 17 minutes of action.
Nate Nelson and Michael Bear finished with 14 and 10 points respectively. The two combined for seven rebounds. Kalonji Paschal had six assists on the night.
MSC led 39-25 at half scoring 11 points on Eagle turnovers (9). MSC was 13 of 19 from the foul line in the first half and finished the game 25 of 41 from the free throw line.
Chadron trailed by double digits the entire second half hitting just 9 of 24 from the field. The Eagles had three players register double digits. Ray Mitchell and Moala Tautuaa had 12 points each and Shey Mataele had 10 points off the bench.
MSC will travel to New Mexico Highlands and Western New Mexico this weekend. The Mavs next home game is February 25-26 when they host Adams State and Fort Lewis College.
