Playoff Hopes Dashed in Loss to Rangers

        The Colorado Mesa University men's soccer team's hopes were dashed this afternoon in a 1-0 loss to the 22nd ranked Regis Rangers at Walker Field. CMU neeeded a win over the Rangers and needed Metro State to beat CSU-Pueblo (Metro State won 4-0) in order for them to make the RMAC Tournament.
        The Rangers scored the only goal of the match with 4:35 left in the regulation. Jordan Spring scored on a header off a free kick from Stephen Reed.
        Colorado Mesa's best scoring chance came at the 79:54 mark of the match when Regis committed a foul in the box which gave the Mavericks a penalty kick. Stevie Palma's kick sailed high and wide of the goal. The Mavericks only had 2 shots on goal in the match.
        Micah Conrads played brilliantly in goal for CMU. Conrads faced 22 Ranger shots and made 10 saves including a couple right in front of the net.
        Colorado Mesa's season concludes with a record of 5-12-1 on the season and 5-9-0 oin the RMAC.
