Mavericks and T-Wolves Dual to 1-1 Tie

Box Score         The Colorado Mesa Univeristy women's soccer team and the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves battled to a 1-1 tie Sunday afternoon at Walker Field. With the tie, the Mavericks still have a shot at hosting a home playoff match as they trail Metro State Roadrunners by 6 points but holds the tiebreaker over Metro State. CMU's record now sits at 6-6-4 and 5-3-4 in RMAC matches while CSU-Pueblo's record is now 5-9-3 and 2-7-3 in the RMAC.
        With 6 seconds left in the first half, Junior Jackie Ramsey tallied her first goal of the season and the first goal of her Maverick career.. Ramsey sprinted down the middle of the field and took a pass from Kelci Crispe and scored on the right side of the goal. The goal gave the Mavericks the lead heading into halftime.
        At the 73:04 mark of the match, ThunderWolf Esther Villa took a shot from about 35 yards out that hit the crossbar and skipped down just over the end line. That tally knotted the match at 1-1.
        The score would remain that way for the remainder of the match. Colorado Mesa attempted 26 shots in the match with 13 of those coming on goal while CSU-Pueblo attempted 14 with 7 of them coming on goal.
        The final home matches of the regular season will be played next weekend at Walker Field. Friday Night, CMU will take on the Colorado Christian at 7:00pm.
