Mesa State men's swim and dive team placed second behind host Grand Canyon University Friday in Phoenix. The Lopers edged out the Mavericks 147-108.
MSC claimed four individual titles in the teams' first event back following the Christmas break.
Rob Eisendrath led the Mavs winning the 100 and 200 yard backstroke. Eisendrath won the 100 backstroke in a time of 56.98. He won the 200 backstroke posting a time of 2:05.88.
Andy Gibbons won the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.64 and took second in the 200 breaststroke (2:14.68).
Alejandro Hernandez took the 200 butterfly title in a time of 1:56.84.
Kent Stavrakas won the 100 butterfly in 52.66 and placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:48.40).
MSC placed second in the 400 medley relay and the 400 freestyle.
