The Mesa State Women's Soccer team picked up its first RMAC win of the season in grand fashion tonight. The Mavericks improved to 3-4-1 on the season and 1-3-0 in RMAC play while Adams State fell to 3-5-0 and 2-2-0 in the RMAC.

Mesa State got on the board in the middle of the first half. In the 20th minute, Redshirt Junior Sara Islas (Tucson, Ariz.) was fouled inside the box and was awarded a penalty kick. Islas found the right side of the net for her first goal as a Maverick.
