The Mavericks battled the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys for the 11th time this season. This time the loser's season would be over.
New Mexico Highlands 3B Oscar Sigala got the Cowboys on the board early, belting a grand slam to right center field. That gave the Cowboys the early 4-0 lead and they would never trail after that.
The Mavericks would cut the Cowboy lead in the sixth inning when 3B Joe Schimidtbauer (RSo., Ft. Collins, CO) would hit a 3-run homerun to cut the Cowboy lead to 8-5. It was Schmidtbauer's 3rd homerun of the season.
New Mexico Highlands would get those three runs right back though. Cowboy slugger Jason Carr would hit a mammoth 3-run homerun to center field to give the Cowboys an 11-5 edge.
New Mexico Highlands went on to win by a score of 11-8.
