Jase Herl's 24 points keeps Mavs undefeated in RMAC

Mavs turn away Grizzlies 80-67

No. 13-ranked Mesa State erased a 12 point first half deficit, outscoring Adams Sate 47-22 in the second half, posting an 80-67 win at Brownson Arena Saturday night.

Adams State shot 51.7 percent (15-29) in the first half, connecting on 5 of 6 treys, and led by as many at 16 points with 3:54 remaining in the first half.

MSC opened the second half with a 17-2 run to take a 50-47 lead at the 14:12 mark. MSC never trailed again putting a 13-4 run together to break a 52-52 tie with 13:01 remaining.

Jase Herl scored 15-second half points on the way to a game high 24 points, including 8 of 8 from the foul line. Herl finished with five assists, four rebound and three steals.

Mike Dominguez scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half. Dominguez was 11 of 14 from the foul line and grabbed a team high eight rebounds and five assists.

Sean Flohr added 11 points and five rebounds Flohr and Herl had nine points each in the first half.

Adams State was led by Nick Fox's 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

MSC will hit the road for a matchup at Western State Tuesday night in Gunnison. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
