All-American Alexis Skarda (Boulder, Colo)won her third race of the cross country season on Saturday at the Western State Mountaineer Open. Skarda held off Western State's Lauren Kleppin to win the race. Her time of 18:22 is the 2nd fastest 5K time in Mesa State history.

          Western State won the team title as they had runners place 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. Western State was ranked 6th in the latest USTFCCCA National Rankings.

          Maverick Kelsey Follett (Ft. Collins, Colo.) placed 11th overall in her first race since the beginning of the month, finishing in 19:53.

         The Maverick Harriers will be off until the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships on November 6 in Las Vegas, N.M.
