The Maverick Women's Soccer team dropped two decisions on the road this past weekend, eliminating them from contention of postseason play. The losses dropped Mesa State's record to 4-10-2 and 2-9-1 in the RMAC.
In Friday's match, Mesa State dropped a 2-0 decision to the N.M. Highlands Cowgirls. Mesa State took twelve shots, seven of which were on goal, but none found the back of the net. The Cowgirls got a goal in the 15th minute and an insurance goal in the 77th minute and cruised to their 10th win of the season.
In yesterday's match, the Mavericks fell victim to the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves 1-0. The Mavericks took seventeen shots with nine of them being on goal, but once again none made it past the goalkeeper. The ThunderWolves got a lone goal in the 20th minute and that was all they would need in the win.
Mesa State will play their final games of the season next weekend. On Friday, Mesa State will play the Colorado Christian Cougars and on Sunday they will play the UCCS Mountain Lions.
