Four seniors went out in style in their last home game at Brownson Arena Sunday evening in the Mavericks 3-1 win over visiting Western State College. MSC won 25-20, 25-20, 25-27, 26-24 to improve to 16-7 overall and 10-4 in league play. Western State dropped to 9-12 overall and 4-10 in RMAC action.
Senior Meagan Bosch tallied a season high 23 kills and a .512 attack percentage recording just two errors on 41 attempts. Bosch finished with a double-double; 23 kills and 11 digs.
Seniors Whitney Howard finished with 17 digs, five assists and three service aces. Lindsey Reed had a team high five blocks and added three kills and two digs.
Tara King wrapped up her career at Brownson Arena with 43 assists, 18 digs and two kills.
Freshman Sarah Kemp tallied 11 kills and four blocks.
MSC had eight team blocks to the Mountaineers' 11 blocks. Western State was led by Gabriela Barsante's 11 kills and Lindsay Huson's 10 kills and four blocks.
MSC will travel to New Mexico Highlands and Western New Mexico this weekend. The Mavericks have four regular season games left, all on the road. The RMAC post season tournament begins November 11-14 in Kearney, NE.
