Mesa State volleyball extended their match win streak to four earning back-to-back sweeps in their opening weekend at home. Saturday night the Mavs swept New Mexico Highlands (25-18, 25-18, 25-14) to improve to 9-6 overall and 4-3 in league play. Friday night MSC beat Western New Mexico, 3-0.

Antoinette McCormick led all players with 12 kills, just one error in 24 attempts for an impressive .458 kill percentage. McCormick tallied seven kills in set one and finished the night with three digs and one block assist.

Lindsey Reed  recorded eight kills and zero errors in 14 attempts (.571). Reed had six kills in game two. Tara King finished with four kills, four digs and a game high 33 assists.

Rebecca Sellers had six kills in two sets and four digs. Defensive specialist Whitney Howard had a team eight digs.

MSC hit .355 in the match with no more then four attack errors in one set.  

New Mexico Highlands was led by Ashley Nugent's 10 kills.

MSC will host Westminster College (Utah) Thursday night, 7 p.m. in a non-conference match.
