Mesa State women's swim team traveled to Laramie for a dual at Division I University of Wyoming, dropping the dual meet 172-116.
Jaclyn McMillen won the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:01.70 and the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:12.94. McMillen scored 18 points with the first place finishes.
Katie Wedel placed second in the 1000 free in a time of 11:17.23 and second in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:13.32.
Briana Purkapile had her best showing as a Mav with second place finishes in the 200 free (1:59.78) and 100 free (55.79).
Katie Thompson and Danielle Shabelski placed second in the 200 breaststroke (2:43.80) and 100 butterfly (1:04.94 respectively.
Sarah Hagerstrom finished second in the 200 butterfly (2:29.36) and Tora Anderson posted a second place finish in the 50 free in a time of 25.98.
Kelly Hogan finished second in the 500 free (5:29.48) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:22.89).
The 400 medley relay team of Anderson, Thompson, Shabelski and Annie Jones scored two points with a fourth place finish (4:22.57).
Saturday at the DU Relays in Denver the Mavericks competed against host Denver University, Air Force Academy, Wyoming and University of New Mexico, all Division I schools. Host DU won the event with 178 points. Wyoming (150), New Mexico (74) and Air Force Academy (38) finished first through fourth respectively. MSC finished fifth.
The Mavericks wil travel to Golden for the Rocky Mountain Invitational Friday and Saturday hosted by Colorado School of Mines.
