Mesa State's eight match win streak was snapped Friday night at the hands of #9-ranked Neb.-Kearney as the Lopers swept the Mavericks 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-20) at Brownson Arena.
The loss was the first home loss for the Mavs who now stand at 13-7 overall and 7-4 in league action. UNK improves to 20-3 and 11-0 in RMAC play. MSC defeated UNK earlier in the year in a non-conference match in Kearney, NE.
Rebecca Sellers led the way for the Mavs with eight kills in two sets. Sellers hit .533 with no errors on 15 attempts. Antoinette McCormick finished with seven kills and four blocks.
UNK's Jeri Walkowiak led all players with 11 kills. UNK tallied 46 kills, five service aces and five team blocks in the three set victory.
MSC finished with 25 kills and six team blocks.
The Mavs will host Chadron State Saturday at 5 p.m.
