Women's Soccer

Rangers Edge Mavericks 1-0

                The Mesa State Women's Soccer team had its home finale on Friday night against the regionally ranked Regis Rangers. The Rangers got a goal with less than two minutes left in the game adn went on to win 1-0. The loss drops the Mavericks to 4-8-2, 2-7-1 in the RMAC, while the Rangers improved to 11-4-0 and 8-2-0 in RMAC competition.

                The two teams played to a scoreless first half. Regis outshot the Mavericks 7-5 and Senior goalkeeper Alicia Kahler (Spokane, Wash.) made four first half saves. 

                Just as the game looked to be heading to overtime, Regis netted the games lone goal. In the 88th minute, Ranger Kari Taylor netted her first goal of the season that ended up being the game winning goal. Taylor took a pass from Jordan Miller and bounced one in, right side.

                Mesa State will be on the road next weekend at the N.M. Highlands Cowgirls and the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves. Friday's game is scheduled for a 3:00pm kickoff in Las Vegas, N.M.
