Alisan Tompkins and Tessa Andrews combined for 31 kills, including a game high 16 by Tompkins, in the Mavericks (1-6) 3-1 (23-25, 24-26, 25-22, 23-25) loss to the 21st-ranked team in the country. It is the second of three nationally ranked teams the Mavericks will play in the Triton Invitational hosted by UC-San Diego.
MSC challenged CSU-Los Angeles in each of the four sets, posting their best hitting percentage (.257) to date. Junior setter Tara King finished with 48 assists, 9 digs and 2 blocked shots. Andrews finished with 5 block assists and Tompkins added 9 digs.
The Mavericks will look to snap a 5-match losing streak Saturday against #7-UC-San Diego.
