Mesa State volleyball improved to 8-7, 6-0 RMAC and in first place in the west division. MSC followed up the 5-set thriller at Adams State on Friday night with a 3-set (25-22, 25-19, 25-17) sweep at CSU-Pueblo (5-10, 2-4).
MSC posted back-to-back nights with double digit blocks recording 12 blocks against the T-Wolves. Tessa Andrews and Antoinette McCormick each had five assisted blocks. Andrews finished with a game high 11 kills. McCormick had 8 kills, one error on 14 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage.
Alisan Tompkins and Gabrielle Lovato had 7 kills each and 10 and 7 digs respectively. Rachael Beaty tallied 4 kills and 2 block assists.
Defensive specialist Whitney Howard had a game high 18 digs. Setter Tara King finished the night with 32 assists, 6 digs, 3 block assists and 1 kill.
MSC returns home Thursday and Friday to host RMAC east foe Colorado School of Mines and UC-Colorado Springs. Both matches are set for 7 p.m.
