Alisan Tompkins double-double, 18 kills and 15 digs, led the Mavericks to their fifth consecutive victory (6-7, 4-0) and a perfect 4-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference record. MSC defeated Fort Lewis College 3-1 (25-15, 15-25, 25-18, 25-12) dropping the Skyhawks to 2-8 overall and 0-3 in league play.
The Mavericks kills leader, Tessa Andrews finished with 17 kills and just three errors in 35 attempts (.400). MSC closed out the match with 15 kills and no errors on 26 attempts in set four.
Tara King guided the team with 51 assists, adding three kills, two service aces and nine digs.
Defensive specialist Whitney Howard finished with a team high 17 digs and three service aces.
MSC will travel to Adams State next Friday for a showdown with the Grizzlies (6-5, 3-1) who are one game behind the Mavericks after being swept at Western New Mexico earlier tonight. Saturday MSC will play at CSU-Pueblo.
