Antoinette McCormick and Gabrielle Lovato combined for 25 kills and 12 digs in the Mavericks 3-set sweep over Minnesota State Moorhead (30-28, 25-15, 25-16). The win is MSC's first victory in the season's opening weekend at the Colorado Mines Oredigger Classic in Golden.

The Mavericks dropped their second match of the day to Saint Leo, 25-18, 25-17, 29-27. Tessa Andrews posted a game high 13 kills and Lovato followed up with 11 kills and 5 digs.

MSC (1-2) wraps up the three day tournament Saturday versus nationally ranked Washburn University.
