The Mavericks racked up 35 runs and 37 hits in a doubleheader sweep of the Regis Rangers. The Mavericks won the first game by a score of 25-10 and game two by a score of 10-2.
In Game 1, Maverick Senior SS
Matt Bodenchuk (Boulder, CO) hit for the cycle in order. He singled in the second inning, doubled in the third, tripled in the fifth, and hit a solo homerun to right in the seventh. He tallied six RBI to bring his season total to a team leading 15.
Reliever
Scott Bachman (Ft. Collins, CO) notched his first victory of the season in relief of starter TJ Butch. Bachman (1-0) pitched five innings in relief allowing nine hits, three runs, and walking one. He also had 4 strikeouts.
Regis was lead by C Patrick Farrell who two hits and five RBI. Both hits were homeruns, his fifth and sixth of the season.
In the nightcap, the Maverick offense was lead by C
Grant Vickers (Nanaimo, BC). Grant added three hits to his team leading hit total, including his fourth double of the season.
Senior LHP
Chris Carma (Salinas, CA) pitched five innings of five hit baseball to earn his first victory of the season. Carma (1-1) added eight strikeouts to his team leading total of 10.
