The #23 Mavericks prevailed today at Suplizio Field beating the #3 Wildcats of Chico State, 7-4. Mesa State improves its record to 3-1 while the Wildcats fall to 3-2.
        RF Mike Provencher (El Paso, TX) finshed the day going 2 for 4 with 2 homeruns moving his season total to 3. Grant Vickers (Nanaimo, BC) went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles. The Wildcats were paced by 1B Josh Meagher who was 2 for 4 with a pair of homers and C Cody Dee who was 2 for 4 with his 3rd homerun of the season.
        RHP Jason Fronczak (Bishop, CA) notched his first victory of the season. Fronczak (1-0) pitched 5 innings allowing 7 hits and 1 walk. Freshman LHP Garrett Carenter (Bellflower, CA) picked up his first save of the season throwing 4 shutout innings allowing 1 hit, 2 walks, and striking out 2. The Wildcats RHP Pete Mickartz dropped to 0-1.
        The 2 teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow at 12:00pm at Suplizio Field.
