Volleyball Clinches West Division Title
Defeat Grizzlies 3-1
MSC volleyball team clinched their second RMAC west division title under Head Coach Dave Fleming (2005) in the Mavericks 4-set victory (25-14, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22) over visiting Adams State College Saturday night. With the win the Mavs improve to 15-9 overall, 13-2 in league play and hold a five game lead with four games remaining.
The Mavs had three players in double digit kills led by Tessa Andrews' 13 kills and four blocks. Antoinette McCormick and Gabrielle Lovato had 10 kills each. McCormick tied for a game high eight blocks. The two teams combined for 26 total blocks.
Adams State College's Darcy Jennings led all players with 15 kills and eight blocks. Seven different players for each team recorded at least one block.
Tara King finished with 45 assists, seven blocks and four digs.
MSC will celebrate senior night Saturday night, October 31 when they host New Mexico Highlands at 7 p.m. The Mavericks will play their final home game on Tuesday, November 3 versus Western New Mexico.
