Annie Rhoades (RFr, Fort Lupton, CO) became MSC's first national qualifier in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. Rhoades qualified Saturday at the Rocky Mountain Invitational in Golden.

Rhoades placed second in the 1-meter (416.70) and 3-meter (425.15), both school records.

MSC went 5-1 Saturday defeating Adams State, Metro swim club, host Colorado School of Mines, Neb.-Kearney and CU-Boulder. Mavs only loss was at the hand of Colorado State.

In Friday's session MSC posted a perfect 5-0 record. The Mavericks beat Adams State, Metro swim club, Colorado School of Mines, Neb.-Kearney and CU-Boulder.

Katie Wedel (Pueblo, CO) won the 200 IM (2:13.96) and the 100 butterfly (1:01.33). She was a member of the first place 400 medley relay team (4:11.95) along with Rachel Bailey (Broken Arrow, OK), Sarah Hagerstrom (Mission Viejo, CA) and Rebecca Reed (Sugarland, TX).

Reed won the 50 freestyle (25.80) and placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:04.18). Bailey won the 100 backstroke (1:01.65). MSC swept the top four places in the 100 backstroke with Jaclyn McMillen (Montrose, CO) (1:02.09), Reed (1:04.18) and Jordan McMillen (Montrose, CO) (1:05.67) finishing second through fourth respectively.

Kelly Hogan (Crystal Lake, IL), last week's RMAC Swimmer of the Week, won the 100 (56.55) and 200 (2:02.79) freestyle.

Saturday's session was highlighted by Rhoades' national qualifying in the 1 and 3-meter diving events.

Wedel placed second in the 400 IM. Reed finished fourth in the 100 freestyle. Hogan had two fifth place finishes in the 500 freestyle and 400 IM.

Next up for the Mavericks is the Air Force Academy Invitational on October 30 and at Colorado College on October 31.
