Men's Basketball Bounce Back

Beat Chadron State 77-69

               Ryan Mathews' 30 points and five assists Saturday night helped the Mavs (6-7, 3-3) snap a three game losing streak in a 77-69 win over Chadron State. Mathews was 15-of-16 from the foul line and scored 21 of his 30 points in the second half. It is the ninth consecutive game Mathews has scored in double digits.

                MSC held a 37-27 halftime lead and out-rebounded the Eagles 20-6 in the first half. MSC jumped out to a 14-2 lead and led by as many as 19 in the first half.

                Chadron State made several runs in the second half and pulled to with in 4 points early in the second half. MSC increased the lead to 18 points with 6:56 remaining in regulation only to have the Eagles make their second run in the half. MSC was successful from the foul line (32-39) to earn their fourth home victory of the season.

                Jake Swartzendruber finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Jase Herl had 9 points and a game high 8 rebounds.

                MSC will travel to UC-Colorado Springs next Friday in an RMAC match-up. Saturday night the team will play a non-conference game versus Johnson & Wales in Denver.
