In a non-conference match-up at UC-Colorado Springs in the Marriott Volleyball Invitational the Mavericks dropped a five set match against the Mountain Lions (19-25, 25-21, 25-22, 18-25, 10-15. UCCS came from behind to take the final two sets including a 6-1 run at 5-5 in the fifth set. The loss coupled with two losses on Friday to nationally ranked opponents, drops the Mavs to 2-5 overall.

                Alisan Tompkins led all players with 19 kills and added a team high 12 digs. UCCS had two players in double digit kills and finished with 13 service aces.

                Corinne Cascioppo, named to the All-Tournament Team finished the match with 10 kills and four block assists. Meagan Bosch joined Cascioppo on the All-Tournament Team.

                MSC hosts Western New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands in their home opener next Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m. at Brownson Arena.
