Nic Pade (Jr., NG, 6'2, 250, Arvada, CO) was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference /Rawlings Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in the Mavs come-from-behind victory over New Mexico Highlands Saturday afternoon.
Pade recorded a game high 11 tackles (two solo) in the Mavericks 37-24 win over the Cowboys. MSC had four sacks in the game, two by Pade for a loss of minus nine yards. His second sack of the game came after the Mavericks pulled to within 24-27 of a Keating field goal. On the ensuing Cowboys drive he sacked the NMHU quarterback, forcing the Cowboys to punt.
Pade leads the team in tackles for loss yardage and is tied for most sacks.
Mesa State will travel to Silver City, New Mexico to play Western New Mexico Saturday at Noon.
