In their first home swim meet of the season, the Bill & Peggy Foster Duels, the Mavericks defeated Colorado College (215-46), Grand Canyon University (217-36) and CU-Boulder's club team (207-55) Saturday at the Orchard Mesa Pool. Division I Air Force Academy went 4-0 in the dual meet, including a 161-101 win over MSC.
Freshman
Katie Wedel (Pueblo, CO) led the Mavericks with three first place finishes, winning the 100 meter breast (1:19.02), 200 meter breast (2:47.64) and the 200 meter IM (2:31.01).
Montrose native and freshman,
Jaclyn McMillen posted a first place finish in the 200 meter backstroke (2:30.99), a second place finish in the 800 meter free (10:11.31) and third place in the 100 meter backstroke (1:10.87).
Second place finishes went to
Sarah Hagerstrom (So, Mission Viejo, CA) in the 200 meter free (2:17.78) and
Karoline Fry (Fr., Delta, CO) in the 100 meter backstroke (1:10.84).
Laura Tully (Jr., Loveland, CO) finished second in the 100 meter breast (1:19.82). Freshman

Lauren Brock (Centennial, CO) placed second in the 50 meter free (29.06) and 200 meter breast (2:54.12) respectively.

Gina Panacci (Fr., Lafayette, CA) posted a time of 2:11.66. In the 200 meter free relay,

Hagerstrom finished fifth in a time of 2:01.50.
