Women's Soccer

Soccer Falls 5-1 to Dixie

              Mesa State women's soccer avoided a shutout loss to Dixie State Wednesday afternoon on an unassisted goal by Alyssa Michel (F, Fr., 5'7, Bellingham, WA) early in the second period (45:58). MSC lost 5-1 to the Rebels in a non-conference game at Walker Field.  
                Dixie State scored four goals in the first period including a first half hat-trick from Wendy Stratford. Dixie took a 1-0 lead (12:20) on a header off a corner kick by Shannon Larsen. Stratford then went to work scoring three consecutive goals in a span of five minutes and a 4-0 lead.
                 The two teams exchanged goals in the second period; a goal by Michel and then the Rebels extended their lead to 5-1 on a goal by Jordyn Hutchinson (68:44).
                  MSC will return to RMAC action this Friday at Walker Field when the Mavs (8-5-0, 3-3-0 RMAC) host Adams State College (1-12, 0-6 RMAC).
