Mavs Beat Grizzlies 2-1

Clinch RMAC post season tournament slot

A goal in each period for the Mavericks helped propel MSC to a 2-1 victory at Adams State Friday afternoon. The win pushed the Mavs record to 11-6-1 overall and 6-4 in RMAC play.
                Alyssa Michel (F, Fr., 5'7, Bellingham, WA) gave the Mavs a 1-0 lead on a free kick 40 yards out at 37:50. MSC had nine shots in the first period to the Grizzlies four.
                Sherilyn Stoffel extended the Mavs lead to 2-0 finding an open net on a rebound shot at 62:46. ASC scored their lone goal of the game with under four minutes remaining in regulation on goal by Amber Drumm.
                Julie Rasmussen (GK, Fr., Rio Rancho, NM) and Kaitlin Bennett (Jr., 5'8, Federal Way, WA) combined for the victory recording seven saves. MSC outshot ASC 18-11 and held a 3-1 corner kick advantage.
                  With the victory the Mavs clinched a spot in the RMAC post season tournament. Sunday the Mavericks travel to Colorado Christian.
