Prep: 2024 graduate of Centauri High School in La Jara, Colorado… Coached by Micah Keys… Helped the Falcons win a 2A state title in 2021 … Was the 106-pound state runner-up that year before placing fifth at 113 pounds as a sophomore in 2022… Finished as the state-runner up at the 3A level as a junior in 2023 before taking fourth in 2024.

Personal: Is majoring in computer science… Hopes to pursue a career in cyber forensics after college to help and inform others how to stay safe from cyber crimes… Has a back up career plan of working in a computer hardware and repair shop and perhaps backend development… Son of Melanie and Charles Valdez… Has one younger brother— Brady… Relative Eyan Chavez wrestles at Western Colorado…  Enjoys lifting weights, going camping with family, building computers and playing video games… Also enjoys martial arts, learning Spanish and the culture of different places.

Why I Chose CMU: “I picked CMU due to the location as it was somewhat close to home and also had much nicer weather.  The campus is also beautiful which was another plus for me.”
