2024-25 (Redshirt Junior): Went 14-12 as the Mavs’ 133-pound starter… Had a 6-5 dual meet record, including a 3-4 record in RMAC duals… Went 4-2 at the Midwest Classic and 3-3 in the Elite Division at Nebraska-Kearney’s Younes Hospitality Open… Went 1-2 at the NCAA Super Regional VI Championships… Recorded two pins and nine bonus point margin victories… Was voted on to the RMAC All-Academic First Team for the second straight year… Was named as a NWCA Scholar All-American.
2023-24 (Redshirt Sophomore): Posted a 17-12 record as the Mavs’ starter at 133 pounds… Qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships after taking second at the Super Regional VI Championships… Earned Second Team All-RMAC honors… Had a 7-3 dual meet record, including a 6-2 mark in RMAC duals… Had five wins by fall and 11 total bonus point margin wins… Placed fourth at the Mines Rookie Open to begin the season before going 3-2 at the Midwest Classic… Also had a 2-2 mark in the Elite Division of the Younes Hospitality UNK Open… Selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for men’s at-large sports… Also voted on to the RMAC All-Academic First Team… Named as a NWCA Scholar All-American.
2022-23 (Redshirt Freshman): Finished 8-5 while wrestling at 133 pounds… Finished fourth at the Mines Rookie Open and fifth at the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Open… Recorded two wins by fall… Named as a NWCA Scholar All-American and to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2021-22 (Freshman): Had a stellar redshirt season, posting a 17-4 record while competing unattached at four open tournaments… Won the Western Colorado Open while finishing third at both the Colorado Mesa Open and the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Open… Also went 3-2 at the Younes Hospitality Open… Had seven wins by fall and claimed 13 total bonus point margin wins.
Prep: 2021 graduate of Lyons High School… Was a 3-time state champion and 4-time placer for the Lions… Coached by Gary Gantzer… Also was an accomplished wrestler for the Bear Cave Wrestling Club, led by Ben VonBaur.
Personal: Is majoring in history and secondary education… Plans to teach high school history and form his own wrestling club… Son of Merrilynn Artman and Russell Huff… Has a sibling— Spencer… Is a competitive white water kayaker during the summer months.
