Biography



2024-25: Went a combined 1-6 in three open tournaments… Wrestled at 149 pounds in the first two and at 157 in the last.

2023-24: Posted a 2-8 record while wrestling unattached at four open tournaments… Competed at 133 and 141 pounds.

2022-23: Posted a 1-6 record at three tournaments, while wrestling at 125 pounds.

Before CMU: Wrestled at NCAA Division III Greensboro College as a freshman in 2021-22.

Prep: 2021 graduate of Grand Valley High School in Parachute… Wrestled for the Cardinals and Coach Bryan Vashus…. Also wrestled for Team Grand Valley Elite, coached by Tom Rugaard.

Personal: Is majoring in construction management… Aspires to own a construction business and be a coach and give back to the community… Son of Hector De La Cruz and Rosalba Rodriguez… Has three siblings— Melissa, Leo and Mathew… When not wrestling, can be found on the driving range or the golf course… Also enjoys learning and trying new cooking recipes.
