2026 Outdoor (Freshman): Represented the Mavs in three meets, while competing unattached in two others… Had a season-best of 12.70 in the 100 meters at the Western Slope Conversion Classic… Also had a long jump effort of 5.09 meters (16-8.5) in that meet… Had a season-best time of 26.73 seconds at the Chuck Haering Classic Invitational.
2025-26 Indoor (Freshman): Sprinted in two meets for the Mavericks… Set a season-best time of 8.13 in the 60 meters at the Big Red Machine Open… Had a 200-meter time of 28.26 at the Last Chance RMAC Qualifier… Also ran unattached at the Mountaineer Open in December.
Prep: 2025 graduate of Jefferson Academy High School… Was named as the 3A Metro League Senior of the Year for the Eric Thimsen coached Jaguars… Earned all-state honors after taking third at the state meet in the long jump and fourth in the 100 meters in 2025…Also helped the team place fifth in the 4x100 and seventh in the 4x200 relay… Was named as both the Jaguars’ Sprinter and Jumper of the Year for the second straight year… Won league titles in the 100 meters, the long jump and the triple jump… Set PR times of 12.40 (100), 26.57 (200) as a senior… Also placed in three individual events at the 2024 state meet as a junior, finishing fifth in the both the long and triple jumps and seventh in the 100… Also helped the Jaguars to a sixth place finish in the 4x100… Set a school-record of 17-9 earlier in her 2024 junior season… Set a PR of 35-9.25 in the triple jump at the 2024 state meet… Had been named as the team’s jumper of the year and “froshmore” of the year as a sophomore in 2023… Finished second in the 4x100-meter relay, fourth in the long jump and ninth in the 100 at that year’s state meet… Also helped the Jaguars place ninth in the 4x100 relay as a freshman in 2021… Was on JA’s Platinum Honor Roll for all four years of her career after recording a 4.0 or higher GPA.
Personal: Is majoring in cellular/molecular and developmental biology… Wants to go into genetic engineering and hopefully go as far as cancer research… Daughter of Mark and Jamieson Buzick… Enjoys hiking, figure skating, thrifting, paddle boarding and baking.
Why I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU because the campus is pretty, there are lots of outdoor activities and everyone that I met was super friendly and welcoming.”
